A production model in which a product designed by the manufacturer is adapted to the buyer's needs and sold under the buyer's brand.
[01]
In the ODM model, design and development belong to the manufacturer. The buyer selects one of the manufacturer's existing products and sells it under its own brand with changes such as colour, material, logo or packaging.
It can shorten development time and reduce upfront costs. However, since the same design may also be sold to other buyers, exclusivity and intellectual property terms should be clarified in advance.
